Ramsbury & Axford Boundary Walk 2011
The Ramsbury & Axford Boundary Walk took place this year on Sunday 1st May (it was formerly called Beating the Bounds - an ancient tradition which has its roots in the very practical matter of protecting the parish boundary). It was a perfect day for walking - dry, sunny and with a strong easterly breeze which kept everything cool. There is some beautiful scenery along the 24 mile route as will be seen in the photos (the route length is somewhere between 23.5 and 26.5 miles depending on which reference you use - my pedometer recorded 24.3 miles). It was superbly organised - many thanks to everyone and for the companionship of many walkers.
